Services: A celebration of Joletta’s life will be held on Friday, June 21, 2013 at the home of Kelly Mommaerts, 622 S. Lewis St., Columbus, WI beginning at 4:30 p.m.


Joletta M. Mommaerts, 76, a resident of Columbus, Wis., and formerly of Bella Vista, Ark., Lincoln, Neb., and Green Bay, Wis. passed away on Thursday, June 13, 2013 at the Columbus Community Hospital.

Joletta Marie was born the daughter of Carl and Marie (Tielens) Kaster on December 12, 1937 in Cudahy, Wis. She was a graduate of St. Joseph Academy in Green Bay. Joletta was married to Kenneth F. Mommaerts on November 9, 1957 in Green Bay.

Joletta was very involved with the Catholic Church. She was both creative and artistic especially in painting. Joletta enjoyed volunteering and organized many art shows with the Church of the Risen Christ in Lincoln, Neb. She loved being around people and was a wonderful friend. Joletta especially enjoyed entertaining her family and friends.

Joletta is survived by her children: Timothy Stanford Mommaerts, Kelly Jo Mommaerts and Mary Margaret Mommaerts; her grandchildren: Kara Lee Wieland, Kasey Jo Mommaerts, and Jules Kenneth Mommaerts; her great-grandchild, Nylah Mossop; her brother, Jack Kaster; her nephew, Steve Lamal and further survived by other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Kenneth in 2009, her son, Paul in 2007 and her sister, Pat Fischer.

A celebration of Joletta’s life will be held on Friday, June 21, 2013 at the home of Kelly Mommaerts, 622 S. Lewis St., Columbus, WI beginning at 4:30 p.m.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I've known Jo, my sister in law for almost 60 years and enjoyed her humor,her spirit and the times she shared with my brother, Ken in Green Bay, Lincoln and Belle Vista.

Kelly & Mary it's been a great honor getting to know your Mother! She always made me smile especially when she would want a Fireball or to nap but Susie beat her to the bed! Take Care ladies and remember the good times! Here's to you Joletta cheers and a Fireball :)

Although I only knew Jo a short time , she quickly found a special place in my heart with her kindness and gentle way. She reminded me very much of my own mother as we talked of her memories of entertaining when she and her husband were younger. The honor was mine to know her. A Beautiful Lady I'll miss very much.
